Gallet MultiChron Petite 1940s
Here we have a beautiful Gallet MultiChron Petite, a wonderful example of an old and rare timepiece in an outstanding condition. This WRISTCLASSIC was the smallest wrist chronograph ever produced allowing women who have done a “men’s job” to have their own watches instead of wearing men’s watches to fulfill their tasks during World War II. By being a favorite timepiece of the early “Ninety-Nines”, an international organization of women pilots, this WRISTCLASSIC is a symbol of strong and powerful women. By breaking gender barriers this WRISTCLASSIC can be worn by women and men also as an extraordinary unisex timepiece. This beautiful chronograph comes with a light polished case in great condition with sharp edges. Dating to the 1950s this classic model measures only 26,1 mm. The dial is in outstanding condition. The large, blued-steel luminous hands give this piece extra charm and character. This WRISTCLASSIC is powered by the rare caliber Valjoux 69 movement, running strong and keeping time well. The watch comes with a Strap from the 1940s, with a fixed size. Being widely associated with the Royal Air Force in general this strap fits perfectly to this unique chronograph. This extraordinary timepiece regarding condition and history is impossible to find again.
Gallet as a historical Swiss manufacturer of first-class watches for professional, military, sports and aviation purposes is the world's oldest clock making house dating back to Mr. Humbertus Gallet, a clock maker who became a citizen of Genève in 1466. The Gallet Company of today is one of the few existing independent Swiss watch brands still upholding in-house manufacturing facilities.
