Gallet MultiChron Yachting 1960s

Here we have a beautiful Gallet MultiChron Yachting, a wonderful example of a classic chronograph with a remarkable connection to regatta sports. This WRISTCLASSIC comes with a polished case in good condition. Dating to the 1960s this classic model measures 36 mm. The dial shows some deep patina especially between 12 and 4 o´clock, proofing the use of it in its habitat - the watersports. Having a closer look on the simple Gallet-logo, you can see a little bird sitting on the major G referring to the aviation importance of Gallet. The original thin and black hands give this piece extra charm and character. Specialty about this dial is the big regatta subdial with a 15-10-5 regatta count down timer for regatta racing. This watch was originaly introduced by Gallet in 1945 and was the world’s first wrist chronograph with 45-minute recording function. Powered by a Valjoux 7733 movement, running strong and keeping time well, it is ready for its job. The movement has been recently serviced. The watch comes with a handcrafted dark brown leatherstrap, completing this cool and sportive chronograph. This extraordinary timepiece is getting harder and harder to find nowadays.

Gallet as a historical Swiss manufacturer of first-class watches for professional, military, sports and aviation purposes is the world's oldest clock making house dating back to Mr. Humbertus Gallet, a clock maker who became a citizen of Genève in 1466. The Gallet Company of today is one of the few existing independent Swiss watch brands still upholding in-house manufacturing facilities.
