IWC Ref. 3279 Steel Automatic

This is a beautiful example of vintage 70s automatic watch. Case and bracelet are made out of stainless steel. The bracelet is original by IWC. The watch is in almost NOS condition and comes crisp-cased and unpolished. The dial is in clean condition. The simple IWC-Logo alongside the silver indexes and beautiful hands are harmonious and well balanced. The crown is original with the appropriate IWC-logo. The movement is a IWC Ultra Thin automatic movement (Cal. 3254) derived from the LeCoultre Cal. 900., running strong and keeping time. This IWC deserves the designation as a WRISTCLASSIC like no other. It convinces with perfect proportions, timeless styling and great reference to 70s.

The International Watch Company has been founded by Ariosto Jones, an American watchmaker and engineer in 1868. In 1901 IWC had already 190 employees. From day one IWC built high quality watches. The most iconic watch by IWC is the Grande Complication. It contains 659 mechanic pieces, among them 71 rubies. It has 17 functions and 12 patents, a perpetual calendar for the next 500 years and the perpetual moon-phase display. Other collectable watches are the IWC Portuguese, IWC Da Vinci, IWC Pilot's Watches, IWC Portofino, IWC Aquatimer and IWC Ingenieur. After two bankruptcies, IWC came back on the road of success.
