MOVADO M90 François Borgel Case 1940s
Here we have a Movado from the 1940s, a wonderful example of an unique and rare timepiece. The very special feature of this WRISTCLASSIC is the beautiful dial with the original and aged tritium-lume. This stunning WRISTCLASSIC comes with a light polished case in great condition with sharp edges. Dating to the 1940s this classic model measures 37 mm. The dial is allover in clean condition with a great patina and only light signs of use. The dial configuration is rare and unusual: all silver dial, with golden sub-registers hands (including the two usual serpentine hands), long tritium indexes and a chapter ring, where most references show a tachymeter scale. Also worth mentioning is also the eye-catching François Borgel stepped case, famous for having produced the case of the Patek Philippe 1463 chronograph. The watch comes with an unworn handcrafted leatherstrap. This Movado is a very rare timepiece and very hard to find nowadays.
Movado was founded under the name LAI Ditescheim & Freres SA in 1881 in La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland. The company changed its name to Movado in 1905. Movado has the meaning "always in motion" in Esperanto. This watch company is specially known for its minimalist style.
