Happy birthday!! Here we have beautiful OMEGA Speedmaster 125 Ref. 378.0801 from the 1970s. This limited edition OMEGA Speedmaster 125 was produced in only 2000 pieces for Omegas 125th anniversary. Founded by Louis Brandt in 1848 it was 1973 when these stunning pieces were hitting the market. The 125 are a breed of their own - a collection of watches defined by their case shape and there special "125" signed dial. And we all know what matters with collectable vintage watches: condition, condition and condition. This piece comes with a perfectly preserved case measuring 42 mm. Fun fact: in its earliest days, the design proposal of this watch included one of the first uses of ceramic in watchmaking. It was intended to have a burgundy ceramic bezel but this did not make it to the final product. The double case design offers a fairly wide-set bezel that gives this watch a nice presence. The dial is in clean condition with no signs of use. The simple Omega-logo alongside the indexes and beautiful hands are harmonious and well balanced.
The date is set at 3 o´clock and the dial features 3 subregisters. The crown is original with the appropriate Omega-logo. This vintage piece is powered by the caliber 1041, running strong and keeping time well. In addition it was the world’s first automatic chronograph to receive an official Chronometer Certification. The watch comes with an original steel-bracelet in perfect condition. This Omega Speedmaster 125 features everything you would be looking for in a 70s chronograph. Omega was founded in 1848 in La Chaux-de-Fonds by Louis Brandt. Out of this small watch manufacture grew a large company: In 1894, the famous 19-ligne pocket watch movement was developed and named “Omega”. Omega, as the final letter of the Greek alphabet, stands for the ultimate level in perfection and quality. In the 1930 the company entered into collaboration with the S.S.I.H.
