OMEGA Speedmaster Mark V Chronograph Ref. 376.0806 "Teutonic"

Here we have beautiful OMEGA Speedmaster Mark V "Teutonic"  Ref. 376.0806 from 1985. The Teutonic Speedmasters are a breed of their own - a collection of watches defined by their case shape, but in terms of dial and movement are pure Speedmaster. Intended for the German market, hence the playful “Teutonic” moniker, these watches were made in the early 1980s. This piece comes with a case in vintage condition, but without any major dents or scratches. Dating back to 1985, the "Teutonic" measures 42 mm. It offers a fairly wide-set bezel that gives this watch a nice presence. The dial is allover in clean condition with only light signs of use. The simple Omega-logo alongside the indexes and beautiful hands are harmonious and well balanced. The day-date is set at 3 o´clock and the dial features 3 subregisters. The crown is original with the appropriate Omega-logo. This vintage piece is powered by the caliber 1045, an Omega variant of the Lémania 5100 movement and the same movement that powers the "Holy Grail" Speedmaster, running strong and keeping time well. That Lémania base is one of the highest praised chronograph calibers of its era and greatly expanded the capabilities of a Speedmaster. Where the original Moonwatch was and always has been simply a manually-wound chronograph, the Holy Grail is self-wound and features day, date, and 24-hour indication thanks to the Omega caliber 1045. The watch comes with an original steel-bracelet in nice condition. Completing this cool timepiece the Teutonic comes with the original box. This Omega Speedmaster Mark V features everything you would be looking for in a 80s chronograph. It’s a true WRISTCLASSIC with perfect proportions, timeless styling, and in great condition perfect for everyday wear.

Omega was founded in 1848 in La Chaux-de-Fonds by Louis Brandt. Out of this small watch manufacture grew a large company: In 1894, the famous 19-ligne pocket watch movement was developed and named “Omega”. Omega, as the final letter of the Greek alphabet, stands for the ultimate level in perfection and quality. In the 1930 the company entered into collaboration with the S.S.I.H. (Société Suisse pour l’Industrie Horlogère). Out of this collaboration the Swatch Group developed. Today, Omega is the flagship of this huge company. In 1932, Omega entered its partnership with the Olympics which continues till today. When in 1969 Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin accomplished the first moon landing there were equipped by Omega with the Speedmaster, and this so-called „Moonwatch“ is still regarded as one of the most significant watches in history.
