ROLEX Ref. 5100 Il Texano - 1970s
What a massive chunk of gold! This is a true and nice example of vintage luxury. The Rolex Ref. 5100 is from the 1970s and was limited to 1000 pieces. This historically important and rare watch has the unique number “458” engraved in the case back, indicating that it was the 458th Il Texano to ever be produced. Case and bracelet are made out of 18k solid gold and in great vintage condition - and yes it is huge. The movement is a high performance beta 21 quartz movement running well and keeping time. While the details are murky, a longtime colleague and friend of Genta has stated that it was Genta who designed the Il Texano initially. Another highlight of this stunning piece is the clean golden dial in perfect condition. A true WRISTCLASSIC by an iconic brand. These kinds of watches were and are the best of the best in terms of quality - limited to 1000 pieces it is a true collectors item.
